LRF Adolescent & Young Adult (AYA) Lymphomas Scientific Workshop and Consortium Meeting

Adolescents & Young Adults (AYAs) are individuals with cancer who are between 15-39 years old.

We had a great time representing the Chike Springer Foundation in June at the Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) AYA Lymphomas Scientific Workshop and Consortium Meeting. We had the opportunity to learn more about the research needs of our community and connect with others who are passionate about making a difference through innovative research.

The conference connected Lymphoma medical professionals from across the world! This two-day conference was packed with information and presentations on the fantastic work done across the scientific community. The AYA group is unique in many ways, and it was incredible to see many concerns and topics we advocate for being addressed. The panel topics included:

  • Disease Biology, Etiology, and Diagnosis

  • Biology of Rare AYA Lymphomas: Leveraging data for precision approaches

  • Techniques in common AYA Lymphomas: New diagnostic tools

  • Treatment: Different Stages of Disease and Incorporation of Novel Agents

  • AYA Drug Development in Lymphoma

  • AYA Outcomes: Long-term and Late Effects

  • Survivorship: Understanding Access and Disparities within the AYA group

This year was the first year they included patient advocates, and the Chike Springer Foundation was one of three represented.

It was such an honor to be invited! We made terrific connections within the scientific community that will help grow the Chike Springer Foundation and fund critical lymphoma research in the future.

Only 1-2% of clinical trial participants are between the ages of 20-39.
